Reed Eckert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Dudley Carbajal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th minute Reed Eckert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dudley Carbajal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dudley Carbajal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Reed Eckert struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Dudley Carbajal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mount Josh. Vince Durham didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vito Boone went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. 46 minutes into the game, Donnie Rhodes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Dudley Carbajal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Atherton FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mount Josh were winning 1-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Reed Eckert made a kick off. After 53 played minutes Atherton FC got a freekick which was hit by Kurtis Muller. If Donnie Rhodes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute, Reed Eckert reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dudley Carbajal. The goal made the score 1-4. Dudley Carbajal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reed Eckert in the 62nd minute of the match.
