Spectators: 6776 (Terracing: 5776, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jamel Fulton started the match with the kick off. Theo Ulrich fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Davis Pollock having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jamel Fulton in the 10th minute of play forced Sporting Olathe's goalkeeper Erik Gorman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lanny Green fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Gorman having to interfere. In the 16th minute, Lanny Green ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erik Gorman was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Lanny Green scored 2-0 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erik Gorman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Davis Pollock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tom Burke, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. A collision led to Lamar getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Quentin Moseley hit a great ball. Theo Ulrich sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute of the match Lamar got a corner. Sporting Olathe's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vance Allen ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Vance Allen got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Erik Gorman quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After having played for 35 minutes, Tom Burke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Olathe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tom Burke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Theo Ulrich sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronny Carlos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Gorman having to interfere. Davis Pollock didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Theo Ulrich went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Theo Ulrich stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Jamel Fulton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lamar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jamel Fulton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sporting Olathe's Erik Gorman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jamel Fulton in the 59th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Theo Ulrich in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Davis Pollock prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bryce McKay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute, Jamel Fulton made a precise shot to the right of Erik Gorman. Sporting Olathe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. When Odell Pate fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Olathe's protests and gave Odell Pate a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Sporting Olathe's Odell Pate got a free kick in the 75th minute. When Theo Ulrich came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Sporting Olathe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Theo Ulrich couldn't finish the play. Davis Pollock made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Tom Burke sent off a good shot on target. After 87 minutes of play, Lamar's Lanny Green made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Erik Gorman was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Tom Burke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lamar fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sporting Olathe had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
