The supporters of Pittsburgh Pirates booed when Newtown Grant FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geraldo Lawler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gary Toth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cason Clements, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Gary Toth made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tad Morris in the 14th minute. Tomas Yost took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filiberto Doty, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17 minutes of play, Newtown Grant FC's Raymundo Echols made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tomas Yost was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gregory Benoit recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th minute Filiberto Doty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Yost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cason Clements in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gary Toth saved Newtown Grant FC from getting behind. 33 minutes into the match, Newtown Grant FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tad Morris came free, but Gary Toth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Filiberto Doty to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Newtown Grant FC's zone, Daniel Sandoval stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gary Toth came out of the goal and Daniel Sandoval tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 61 minutes into the match, Filiberto Doty had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomas Yost. Pittsburgh Pirates's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Filiberto Doty was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. If Gregory Benoit had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Newtown Grant FC's Gregory Benoit got a free kick in the 75th minute. Tad Morris fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gary Toth having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tad Morris in the 81st minute of play forced Newtown Grant FC's goalkeeper Gary Toth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Newtown Grant FC's Gary Toth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milan Bell in the 86th minute of play. Gregory Benoit hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. When Cason Clements came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Pittsburgh Pirates fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cason Clements couldn't finish the play. Pittsburgh Pirates's Tad Morris got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milan Bell in the 96th minute of play forced Newtown Grant FC's goalkeeper Gary Toth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Newtown Grant FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
