Gerard Ransom could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Ken Flores made a huge save. Ken Flores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerard Ransom, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Ken Flores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marty Guidry in the 15th minute of play. After 17 played minutes High Ridge AFC got a freekick which was hit by Berry Keith. When Gavino Olivar came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the FC STATES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gavino Olivar couldn't finish the play. FC STATES's Gavino Olivar got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Berry Keith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. German Payton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gavino Olivar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Craig Massey hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. The long shot by Ernest Patten in the 41st minute really tested Ken Flores's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 44th minute, Gerard Ransom ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ken Flores was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gavino Olivar to strike the kick off in the second half. Ken Flores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marty Guidry in the 56th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in High Ridge AFC's zone, Gavino Olivar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. German Payton came out of the goal and Gavino Olivar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 90 minutes, Eliseo Johnston mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the High Ridge AFC and the FC STATES players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eliseo Johnston hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. There was no doubt that High Ridge AFC were the better team. High Ridge AFC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
