The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wesley Carver to strike the kick off in the second half. Carlo Thorne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Lester in the 55th minute of play. Young Whalen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carlo Thorne. Escalon's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Tanner Mays fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Escalon's protests and gave Tanner Mays a yellow card for diving instead. In the 58th minute, Tanner Mays hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wesley Carver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gregg Campos during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cloquet's Gregg Campos got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Escalon were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
