The supporters of Chicago FC booed when Goblin Ski Patrol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dominic Newell didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute Art Urmanski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danny Glover saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the game, Jonathan Holbrook cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Danny Glover was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 21st minute, Art Urmanski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jonathan Holbrook had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jon Cunningham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eldon Zeigler having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Art Urmanski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fernando Hong's late challenge caught a Goblin Ski Patrol's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernando Hong helped the player get up and apologised. After 37 played minutes Chicago FC got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Hong. Art Urmanski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brant Powell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chicago FC's Bo McDonough pulled a muscle in his leg after 46 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Wilson Villa fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Goblin Ski Patrol's protests and gave Wilson Villa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th minute, Wilson Villa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brant Powell to make the kick off. Brant Powell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th match minute, Chicago FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Howard to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Chicago FC's Roland Howard got a free kick in the 78th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Ethan Aguilar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chicago FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ethan Aguilar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eldon Zeigler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eldon Zeigler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brant Powell in the 84th minute of the match. Roland Howard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brant Powell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Jonathan Holbrook had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Goblin Ski Patrol defense, Brant Powell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eldon Zeigler. The Goblin Ski Patrol fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eldon Zeigler should have stopped the shot. Goblin Ski Patrol's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
