Stacy Coles ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Chicago FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Roland Howard hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute of the match Darryl Dutton shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Danny Glover showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 35th minute Rodrick Samuel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danny Glover saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jon Cunningham in the 38th minute of play forced Sporting KC's goalkeeper Dalton Osborn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stacy Coles did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-1 to the left of a surprised Danny Glover 71 minutes into the match. Johnny Sullivan kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jon Cunningham in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dalton Osborn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jon Cunningham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th minute, Larry Mansfield hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sporting KC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
