The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vernon Echols in the 5th minute of play forced Saunders Blue Devils's goalkeeper Hunter Schafer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ari Hinton fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RedArmyFC's protests and gave Ari Hinton a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th minute, Sheldon Benedict fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of David Chan, passed just outside the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Seth Madden in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hunter Schafer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lewis Coles hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Saunders Blue Devils's goalkeeper Hunter Schafer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Curt Isaac came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the RedArmyFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Curt Isaac couldn't finish the play. Saunders Blue Devils's Hunter Schafer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seth Madden in the 25th minute of play. Hunter Schafer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vernon Echols, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 29 played minutes Saunders Blue Devils got a freekick which was hit by Avery Thome. 30 minutes into the game, Seth Madden cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Hunter Schafer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vernon Echols's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hunter Schafer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. If Sheldon Benedict had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vernon Echols fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hunter Schafer having to interfere. After the first half RedArmyFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vernon Echols to strike the kick off in the second half. Vernon Echols received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hunter Schafer came out and tried to block the shot, but Vernon Echols slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 53rd minute. Vernon Echols sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 58th minute of the match, Seth Madden got a very nice opportunity to score, but Hunter Schafer was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 59 played minutes RedArmyFC got a freekick which was hit by Marvin Tracy. Seth Madden came free with the goalkeeper in the 63rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hunter Schafer could save by the left post. Vernon Echols sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. RedArmyFC's Seth Madden got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. RedArmyFC's Curt Isaac got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Vernon Echols sped through Saunders Blue Devils's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hunter Schafer. A hard shot 85 in the game by Seth Madden from a close distance when the talented Hunter Schafer managed to make a qualified save. Saunders Blue Devils's players were relieved. Seth Madden was extremely unlucky when he, in the 86th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The audience thought a goal was coming when Seth Madden got free with Hunter Schafer in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
