In the 22ndth minute of the game Boyd Nicholson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bella Vista AFC's Randall Stafford was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 39 played minutes Bella Vista AFC got a freekick which was hit by Stanton Hadley. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Boyd Nicholson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aztecs Premire's supporters rose to their feet, but Boyd Nicholson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Randall Stafford breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Denny Jeffries fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Randall Stafford having to interfere. When Derrick Lee came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Aztecs Premire fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Derrick Lee couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell German Golden to make the kick off. In the 98th minute, Garth Cornett sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Aztecs Premire's Damon Flint didn't even have to move. Aztecs Premire's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
