Spectators: 7526 (Terracing: 5600, Seating: 1773, VIP seats: 153) Sharpsburg's Colin Hirsch started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Colin Hirsch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 10th match minute, Sharpsburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marlon Burrell to maneuver through the defense. Colin Hirsch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Jon Parker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jon Parker made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matt Guy in the 17th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Sharpsburg's zone, Trey Hoff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brendon Kirkpatrick came out of the goal and Trey Hoff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Trey Hoff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stanford Arthur was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 29th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 30th minute, Sharpsburg's Colin Hirsch ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jon Parker. Jon Parker yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Brendon Kirkpatrick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trey Hoff, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. When Jeramy Rouse came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Buchanan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeramy Rouse couldn't finish the play. Buchanan's Jeramy Rouse got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Buchanan's Jeramy Rouse in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sharpsburg's goalie prevented a goal. Jeramy Rouse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Trey Hoff stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Jeramy Rouse got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 55th minute of the match Buchanan got a corner. Sharpsburg's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rafael Metzger ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Rafael Metzger got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Brendon Kirkpatrick quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 60 minutes into the match, Matt Guy notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Buchanan's Jon Parker. Jon Parker was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jon Parker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Colin Hirsch in the 64th minute of play. Jon Parker stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matt Guy's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Colin Hirsch took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jon Parker. Jon Parker dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. If Matt Guy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matt Guy struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Jon Parker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sharpsburg. 79 minutes into the game, Neal Bolden was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buchanan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sharpsburg the free kick. Colin Hirsch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Parker having to interfere. 84 minutes in the game, Jeramy Rouse fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Brendon Kirkpatrick having to interfere. After 84 played minutes Trey Hoff rounded Sharpsburg's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-1. The supporters of Sharpsburg booed when Buchanan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeramy Rouse didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matt Guy in the 88th minute of play forced Buchanan's goalkeeper Jon Parker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeramy Rouse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Brendon Kirkpatrick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
