In the 15th minute Rusty Nunn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth Lyles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastian Vogel kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Van Jefferson in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kenneth Lyles saved Sturgeon Bay FC from getting behind. Tony Rocha might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kenneth Lyles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tony Rocha ran back to his position shaking his head. Kenneth Lyles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rusty Nunn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute, Rusty Nunn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kenneth Lyles was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Earl Booker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Collin Ransom having to interfere. After 44 minutes of play, King of Prussia's Tomas Saucedo made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kenneth Lyles was left in no man's land by his defense there! 50 minutes into the match, Sturgeon Bay FC's goal looked a bit too open when Van Jefferson came free, but Kenneth Lyles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

King of Prussia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Franklin Staton in the 56th minute. Van Jefferson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenneth Lyles having to interfere. When Van Jefferson came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the King of Prussia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Van Jefferson couldn't finish the play. Sturgeon Bay FC's Kenneth Lyles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Sturgeon Bay FC from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Van Jefferson managed to get in a good position for a shot. King of Prussia's supporters rose to their feet, but Van Jefferson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kenneth Lyles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Van Jefferson in the 94th minute of play forced Sturgeon Bay FC's goalkeeper Kenneth Lyles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. King of Prussia's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
