The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Van Jefferson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. Jeramy Rouse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Collin Ransom having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Buchanan's goal looked a bit too open when Van Jefferson came free, but Jon Parker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeramy Rouse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Trey Hoff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Collin Ransom having to interfere. Rusty Nunn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Parker having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Van Jefferson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Neal Bolden fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buchanan's protests and gave Neal Bolden a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Buchanan getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Neal Bolden hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Trey Hoff made the kick off in the second half. King of Prussia's Collin Ransom proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save King of Prussia from getting a goal against them. In the 54th minute, Trey Hoff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jeramy Rouse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Collin Ransom having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Rusty Nunn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jon Parker was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 73rd minute Van Jefferson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jon Parker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Franklin Staton hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. After 76 played minutes, Buchanan's Neal Bolden shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Collin Ransom came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Buchanan reached it. Sanford Eason hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in King of Prussia's zone, Neal Bolden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Collin Ransom came out of the goal and Neal Bolden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The King of Prussia fans' excitement grew in the 88th match minute when King of Prussia's Rusty Nunn looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 92 minutes, Rusty Nunn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. King of Prussia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rusty Nunn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Rusty Nunn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
