The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Santos Murray received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Brendon Kirkpatrick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matt Guy's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Claude Bernard firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 10th match minute, Sharpsburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renaldo Mora to maneuver through the defense. Trenton Kirby might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brendon Kirkpatrick. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Trenton Kirby ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 15th minute Colin Hirsch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claude Bernard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the game, Colin Hirsch recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Claude Bernard. Colin Hirsch showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 20 minutes into the match, Sharpsburg's Colin Hirsch sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Claude Bernard narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marlon Burrell hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the match, Sharpsburg's goal looked a bit too open when Trenton Kirby came free, but Brendon Kirkpatrick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of South Park Township booed when Sharpsburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renaldo Mora didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trenton Kirby in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brendon Kirkpatrick prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 32 played minutes Sharpsburg got a freekick which was hit by Clark McNamara. In the 33rd minute, Trenton Kirby made a precise shot to the right of Brendon Kirkpatrick. Sharpsburg's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trenton Kirby in the 38th minute of play forced Sharpsburg's goalkeeper Brendon Kirkpatrick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matt Guy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Claude Bernard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matt Guy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claude Bernard read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Trenton Kirby made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, South Park Township's goal looked a bit too open when Renaldo Mora came free, but Claude Bernard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Sharpsburg getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Marlon Burrell hit a great ball. 55 minutes into the match, South Park Township's Flint Parra broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Clark McNamara's late challenge caught a South Park Township's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Clark McNamara helped the player get up and apologised. Moises Bonds thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Brendon Kirkpatrick, a very annoying self made goal in the 59th minute which led to 1-2. In the 67th minute of the match, Pedro McGraw got a very nice opportunity to score, but Brendon Kirkpatrick was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a little luck, Sharpsburg's Brendon Kirkpatrick got control of the ball when Pedro McGraw tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Sharpsburg getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Renaldo Mora hit a great ball. Trenton Kirby recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Moises Bonds took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Claude Bernard. South Park Township's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Brendon Kirkpatrick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trenton Kirby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpected shot in the 80th minute by Trenton Kirby got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Renaldo Mora's late challenge caught a South Park Township's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Renaldo Mora helped the player get up and apologised. Renaldo Mora kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. After 86 played minutes Sharpsburg got a freekick which was hit by Moises Bonds. Brendon Kirkpatrick made an important save on a dangerous shot by Flint Parra in the 87th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Sharpsburg's zone, Trenton Kirby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brendon Kirkpatrick came out of the goal and Trenton Kirby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Matt Guy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sharpsburg's supporters rose to their feet, but Matt Guy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claude Bernard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
