Kirby Park dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. With a little luck, Leo & Chivo's Kirby Park got control of the ball when Domenico Gilmore tried to sneak it across the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Leo & Chivo's goal looked a bit too open when Hunter Greenwood came free, but Kirby Park reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Hunter Greenwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kirby Park showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hunter Greenwood in the 19th minute of the match. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by WolfPack's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gerard Cordero was slow to take the kick. During this time Leo & Chivo's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Leo & Chivo's Gerard Cordero to fire away a dangerous shot which Sergio Aguirre despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 31 played minutes WolfPack got a freekick which was hit by Brent Nunez. 33 minutes into the game, Grady Hensley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. WolfPack's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leo & Chivo the free kick. In the 41st minute, Alan Eaton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 43rd minute Arnold Slaughter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Aguirre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for WolfPack. After 46 played minutes WolfPack got a freekick which was hit by Chuck Little. Arnold Slaughter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Sergio Aguirre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
