Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Carrizo Springs's Angelo Pack started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Warren Starnes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Carrizo Springs booed when San Diego Minas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reggie Roland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Esteban McCoy struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Duke Zapata didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Diego Minas. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marlin Woodall in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Duke Zapata prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alexander Shearer hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Duke Zapata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Warren Starnes in the 20th minute of the match. When San Diego Minas's Marlin Woodall in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Carrizo Springs's goalie prevented a goal. Stevie German took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Duke Zapata. Carrizo Springs's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Guilherme Lage made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Robbie Murillo sent off a good shot on target. Duke Zapata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marlin Woodall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Duke Zapata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Warren Starnes in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, one of Carrizo Springs:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Stevie German walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Warren Starnes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Marlin Woodall made the kick off in the second half. If Warren Starnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duke Zapata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marlin Woodall, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marlin Woodall in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Duke Zapata saved Carrizo Springs from getting behind. Robbie Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Guilherme Lage tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 64 minutes, Marlin Woodall managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Diego Minas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marlin Woodall was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 66 minutes into the match, San Diego Minas's Warren Starnes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Duke Zapata narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marlin Woodall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marlin Woodall couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Carrizo Springs's Duke Zapata got control of the ball when Warren Starnes tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Marlin Woodall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Warren Starnes scored 1-3 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Duke Zapata, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match was over San Diego Minas could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Carrizo Springs throughout the match.
