North Carolina Gauchos's Aaron Faulkner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sammy Person in the 8th minute of play. Grant Croft hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. A collision led to North Carolina Gauchos getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Aurelio Ramirez hit a great ball. In the 19th minute Florian Maher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilbur Biggs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Darnell Benoit struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Wilbur Biggs didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for North Carolina Gauchos. Aaron Faulkner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sammy Person, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florian Maher in the 32nd minute of play forced Norway's goalkeeper Wilbur Biggs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Aurelio Ramirez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Florian Maher managed to get in a good position for a shot. North Carolina Gauchos's supporters rose to their feet, but Florian Maher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilbur Biggs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 41 minutes, Darnell Benoit managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. North Carolina Gauchos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Darnell Benoit was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sammy Person sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Florian Maher made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Jay Redd took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Aaron Faulkner to make any attempt to save it. When Darnell Benoit came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the North Carolina Gauchos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darnell Benoit couldn't finish the play. 58 minutes into the game, Kirby Fitzgerald was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. North Carolina Gauchos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Norway the free kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jay Redd in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aaron Faulkner prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 65th minute, Jay Redd got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 69 minutes into the match, Jay Redd dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aaron Faulkner, 0-2. If Jay Redd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Darnell Benoit recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wilbur Biggs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florian Maher in the 94th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sammy Person got free with Aaron Faulkner in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Norway had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
