Wyatt Carrington's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilbur Biggs read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Wyatt Carrington blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilbur Biggs having to make a save. If John Howard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. John Howard who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Wilbur Biggs when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Norway booed when Yonkers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Howard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jay Redd in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Neal Richardson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Wyatt Carrington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 48th minute, John Howard made a precise shot to the right of Wilbur Biggs. Norway's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jay Redd to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Eusebio Oakley made a precise shot to the right of Wilbur Biggs. Norway's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. John Howard scored 3-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilbur Biggs, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jay Redd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Neal Richardson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John Howard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilbur Biggs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wyatt Carrington in the 67th minute of play. The audience was convinced that John Howard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilbur Biggs was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Yonkers's Neal Richardson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jay Redd in the 78th minute of play. Sammy Person received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Neal Richardson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marlin Barrera hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Norway were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Yonkers's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Otis Bentley took the corner. The corner led Norway's Otis Bentley to fire away a dangerous shot which Neal Richardson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 90th minute, Jay Redd got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sammy Person recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Norway players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Yonkers.
