Seating: 1785, VIP seats: 154) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nathaniel Broussard kicked off to start the match. Garry Arnold took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marlin Woodall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of San Diego Minas booed when Newburyport FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bret Lassiter didn't get a good kick on the ball. The throw-in from Clark Connell in the 15th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Newburyport FC's Milo Mayberry. Newburyport FC's Nathaniel Broussard quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Clark Connell, made in the 16th minute of the game. Garry Arnold made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramon Finn in the 20th minute of play. In the 29th minute, San Diego Minas's Marlin Woodall ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Garry Arnold. Garry Arnold yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The audience was convinced that Marlin Woodall's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Garry Arnold was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marlin Woodall in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Garry Arnold prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 42 minutes of play, San Diego Minas's Warren Starnes made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Garry Arnold was left in no man's land by his defense there! Newburyport FC's Garry Arnold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marlin Woodall in the 46th minute of play. Garry Arnold showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marlin Woodall in the 48th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marlin Woodall to make the kick off. Garry Arnold took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Warren Starnes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th match minute, Newburyport FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berry Vaughan to maneuver through the defense. Garry Arnold showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marlin Woodall, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 59th minute Marlin Woodall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garry Arnold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Warren Starnes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Garry Arnold tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Marlin Woodall got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 70th minute Warren Starnes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garry Arnold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Newburyport FC's Garry Arnold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Warren Starnes in the 75th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marlin Woodall in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Garry Arnold saved Newburyport FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marlin Woodall in the 78th minute of play forced Newburyport FC's goalkeeper Garry Arnold to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Garry Arnold took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Warren Starnes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clark Connell made in the 86th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Warren Starnes immediately put the ball in play. In the 87th minute, Esteban McCoy made a precise shot to the right of Garry Arnold. Newburyport FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. If Marlin Woodall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Garry Arnold took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Warren Starnes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marlin Woodall in the 95th minute of play forced Newburyport FC's goalkeeper Garry Arnold to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. San Diego Minas's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
