Wyatt Carrington received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Len Spaulding tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th minute, Wyatt Carrington made a precise shot to the right of Len Spaulding. Port Carbon FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Craig Webber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Port Carbon FC's Brent Tompkins got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 19th minute, Eusebio Oakley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Port Carbon FC's Craig Webber in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Port Carbon FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wyatt Carrington was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The supporters of Port Carbon FC booed when Yonkers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marquis Merrill didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st match minute, Yonkers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marquis Merrill to maneuver through the defense. Neal Richardson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Craig Webber in the 44th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Port Carbon FC's zone, Wyatt Carrington stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Len Spaulding came out of the goal and Wyatt Carrington tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wyatt Carrington was the one to do the kick off. John Howards short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Len Spaulding to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 60 played minutes Yonkers got a freekick which was hit by Eusebio Oakley. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Eusebio Oakley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yonkers's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusebio Oakley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Len Spaulding breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 70 minutes into the match, Port Carbon FC's goalkeeper Len Spaulding had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by John Howard. In the 72nd minute, Joseph Holloway hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Dylan Pryor from long distance, 74 minutes into the match, got Len Spaulding's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Neal Richardson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Craig Webber, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Lamar Tomlinson charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Yonkers's Neal Richardson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Craig Webber in the 93rd minute of play.
