Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Noel Mayberry got the match started through his kick off. Palmer McCord struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Jesus Meyer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Philadelphia Eagles. 8 minutes into the match, St. John AFC's goalkeeper Jesus Meyer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Palmer McCord. Stacy Stephenson's late challenge caught a St. John AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stacy Stephenson helped the player get up and apologised. Stacy Stephenson hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After having played for 11 minutes, Noel Mayberry managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. St. John AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Noel Mayberry was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jamal Morales showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Mayberry, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stacy Stephenson in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jesus Meyer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Philadelphia Eagles's Stacy Stephenson in 21 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Jesus Meyer guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Palmer McCord's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 22ndth minute, Jesus Meyer skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noel Mayberry in the 24th minute of play forced Philadelphia Eagles's goalkeeper Jamal Morales to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Philadelphia Eagles's Stacy Stephenson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jesus Meyer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With his leg Jesus Meyer managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Philadelphia Eagles's Palmer McCord fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 30th minute, Philadelphia Eagles's Edmund MacDonald dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in St. John AFC's zone, Edmund MacDonald stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jesus Meyer came out of the goal and Edmund MacDonald tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jesus Meyer made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Edmund MacDonald sent off a good shot on target. Max Stubbs might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jesus Meyer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Max Stubbs ran back to his position shaking his head. After 36 minutes, Hank Ruff mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the St. John AFC and the Philadelphia Eagles players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 36 played minutes St. John AFC got a freekick which was hit by Hank Ruff. Palmer McCord recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the St. John AFC defense, Palmer McCord kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jesus Meyer. The St. John AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jesus Meyer should have stopped the shot. Palmer McCord sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 43 played minutes St. John AFC got a freekick which was hit by Hank Ruff. If Asher Rader had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Max Stubbs to make the kick off. St. John AFC's Jesus Meyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Max Stubbs in the 52nd minute of play. After 54 minutes of play, Philadelphia Eagles's Palmer McCord made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jesus Meyer was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 58th match minute, Philadelphia Eagles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmund MacDonald to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, St. John AFC's Guillermo Miranda got a free kick in the 59th minute. A collision led to St. John AFC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Hank Ruff hit a great ball. Edmund MacDonald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 66 minutes into the match, St. John AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Palmer McCord came free, but Jesus Meyer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albert Parker kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Max Stubbs took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jesus Meyer. Jesus Meyer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Max Stubbs sped through St. John AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jesus Meyer. In the 78th minute Stacy Stephenson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesus Meyer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in St. John AFC's zone, Max Stubbs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jesus Meyer came out of the goal and Max Stubbs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Philadelphia Eagles's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Noel Mayberry 82 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 6-1. Philadelphia Eagles's Jamal Morales proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Philadelphia Eagles from getting a goal against them. After having played for 86 minutes, Edmund MacDonald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Philadelphia Eagles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmund MacDonald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th match minute, St. John AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Humphries to maneuver through the defense. In the 89thth minute of the game Edmund MacDonald who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but St. John AFC's Jesus Meyer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 93 minutes into the game, Philadelphia Eagles's Max Stubbs nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jesus Meyer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-1. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Philadelphia Eagles had played much better football throughout.
