The referee showed Lance Bryson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 18 played minutes Virginia settlers got a freekick which was hit by Lance Bryson. Brendan Enriquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Crandall having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Virginia settlers's zone, Brendan Enriquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alex Crandall came out of the goal and Brendan Enriquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ulysses Staley to make the kick off. Alex Crandall made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brendan Enriquez in the 54th minute. In the 61st minute Ulysses Staley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Crandall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexis Flanagan hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Brendan Enriquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The Madera Acres FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
