Johnathon Patel started the match with the kick off. Brendon Bragg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnathon Patel in the 4th minute of the match. Brendon Bragg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnathon Patel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tommie Bland had several of the Orland AFC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 7 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Aaron Levine as he didn't even see the shot coming. The supporters of Orland AFC booed when Lake Odessa AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Loren Dempsey didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Orland AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Walker Hernandez came free, but Aaron Levine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Johnathon Patel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Brendon Bragg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stevie Minton took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Brendon Bragg. Lake Odessa AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, Johnathon Patel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Brendon Bragg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Wes Burch took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aaron Levine. Orland AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Johnathon Patel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Brendon Bragg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Walker Hernandez made the kick off in the second half. When Max Huston fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Orland AFC's protests and gave Max Huston a yellow card for diving instead. If Walker Hernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Johnathon Patel was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 67th minute. Orland AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Tommie Bland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Orland AFC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Stevie Minton hit a great ball. Walker Hernandez struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Aaron Levine didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lake Odessa AFC. Tommie Bland's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aaron Levine read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. If Tommie Bland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orland AFC's Aaron Levine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walker Hernandez in the 80th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dexter Platt got free with Brendon Bragg in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Walker Hernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
