Virgilio Haney charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jerry Dailey to strike the kick off in the second half. Ned Metz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Crandall having to interfere. When the match was over Dobby Dogs FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Virginia settlers throughout the match.
