Simon Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendon Bragg having to interfere. When Simon Velasco came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Mipau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simon Velasco couldn't finish the play. 15 minutes into the match, Mipau's goalkeeper Wyatt Pacheco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Loren Dempsey. In the 16th minute, Thaddeus Yang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wyatt Pacheco acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 17th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jaime Ingram. Alfonso Galvan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeremiah John hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Dennis Ball received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Brendon Bragg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wes Burch's late challenge caught a Mipau's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wes Burch helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th minute, Lake Odessa AFC's Walker Hernandez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Wyatt Pacheco. Wyatt Pacheco yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walker Hernandez in the 48th minute of play forced Mipau's goalkeeper Wyatt Pacheco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Simon Velasco was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Simon Velasco took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Brendon Bragg to make any attempt to save it. Fred Countess's late challenge caught a Lake Odessa AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walker Hernandez in the 63rd minute of play forced Mipau's goalkeeper Wyatt Pacheco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mipau's Alfonso Galvan got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 67th minute, Earl Foreman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Simon Velasco in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Brendon Bragg, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Earl Foreman hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Walker Hernandez struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Wyatt Pacheco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lake Odessa AFC. After having played for 83 minutes, Simon Velasco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mipau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simon Velasco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 85 played minutes Mipau got a freekick which was hit by Fred Countess. The audience was convinced that Loren Dempsey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wyatt Pacheco was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. If Alfonso Galvan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
