In the 11th match minute, Phillipsburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Porter Greenberg to maneuver through the defense. Johnny Eckert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Dante Saucedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Percy Baron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kory Hall having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stevie Brock in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kory Hall saved Phillipsburg from getting behind. Kory Hall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stevie Brock in the 24th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Phillipsburg's goal looked a bit too open when Stevie Brock came free, but Kory Hall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, JINAN QuanYun FC's goalkeeper Dante Saucedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geraldo Parra. A collision led to Phillipsburg getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Cole Kaufman hit a great ball. In the 34th minute, Percy Baron got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dante Saucedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnny Eckert, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Dante Saucedo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Bernardo Thorne. In the 41st minute, Willis Elias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute, Johnny Eckert fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Dante Saucedo, passed just outside the right post. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
