Spectators: 7661 (Terracing: 5833, Seating: 1788, VIP seats: 40) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Oren Thome made the kick off which started today's match. Anton Sweet came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Phillipsburg's Terry Call. But to his dismay, Terry Call quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Oren Thome had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oren Thome received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Kory Hall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Phillipsburg's Kory Hall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oren Thome in the 15th minute of play. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Olivehurst's goalkeeper Anton Sweet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Olivehurst's goal looked a bit too open when Terry Call came free, but Anton Sweet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mervin Meza hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Terry Call managed to get in a good position for a shot. Phillipsburg's supporters rose to their feet, but Terry Call was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anton Sweet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 25 minutes Olivehurst's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cole Kaufman who took care of the corner kick. In the 26th match minute, Olivehurst was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Graham Atkinson to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Olivehurst's zone, Cole Kaufman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anton Sweet came out of the goal and Cole Kaufman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Johnny Eckert took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anton Sweet. Anton Sweet dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 35 minutes into the match, Johnny Eckert had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anton Sweet. Olivehurst's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Johnny Eckert was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After having played for 40 minutes, Terry Call managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Phillipsburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Terry Call was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 43rd minute, Johnny Eckert made a precise shot to the right of Anton Sweet. Olivehurst's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. In the 47th minute Terry Call shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anton Sweet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Colby Reaves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kory Hall having to make a save. Johnny Eckert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Anton Sweet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 56 played minutes Phillipsburg got a freekick which was hit by Porter Greenberg. Johnny Eckert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 65 minutes into the match, Johnny Eckert dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Anton Sweet, 0-5. Mervin Meza kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. 72 minutes into the game, Johnny Eckert recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Anton Sweet. Johnny Eckert showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. When Terry Call came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Phillipsburg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Terry Call couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Olivehurst defense, Johnny Eckert kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anton Sweet. The Olivehurst fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anton Sweet should have stopped the shot. In the 91st minute, Johnny Eckert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnny Eckert in the 95th minute of play forced Olivehurst's goalkeeper Anton Sweet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phillipsburg played a much better game than Olivehurst and deserved their victory. The Olivehurst players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
