One of Des Plaines River Rats:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hood River AFC:s goal. In the 19th minute there was a penalty for Hood River AFC. Ethan Matthews stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Vince Velazquez. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lenny Monroe in the 22nd minute of play forced Hood River AFC's goalkeeper Danny Tang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Danny Tang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glen Ewing, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Al Dobbins charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Al Dobbins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Hood River AFC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Al Dobbins hit a great ball. In the 26th minute of the match Sylvester Cunningham shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Danny Tang showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Hood River AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Glen Ewing came free, but Danny Tang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vince Velazquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donnie Herring in the 38th minute of the match. After having played for 41 minutes, Glen Ewing managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Des Plaines River Rats's supporters crossed their fingers, but Glen Ewing was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lenny Monroe took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Danny Tang. Danny Tang dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Hood River AFC's Danny Tang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glen Ewing in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lenny Monroe made a kick off. Lenny Monroe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danny Tang having to interfere. Vince Velazquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Josiah Mims, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Josiah Mims received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Vince Velazquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Donnie Herring blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vince Velazquez having to make a save. 66 minutes into the game, Josiah Mims cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Vince Velazquez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Des Plaines River Rats's Vince Velazquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josiah Mims in the 71st minute of play. Josiah Mims sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 75 minutes, Rene Ng mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Des Plaines River Rats and the Hood River AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Des Plaines River Rats getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Rene Ng hit a great ball. Ethan Matthews was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 76th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 87 minutes into the game, Lenny Monroe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Des Plaines River Rats's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hood River AFC the free kick. Donnie Herring received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Vince Velazquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Donnie Herring recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th minute, Kristopher Graves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
