The supporters of Warrensville Heights booed when Hokie Nation was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boyd McCracken didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benny Foster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 10th minute, Hokie Nation's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ezra Holbrook fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 13 played minutes Warrensville Heights got a freekick which was hit by Graig Swift. If Dustin Shaver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute Ezra Holbrook shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but DeMarcus Kenny saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hokie Nation's DeMarcus Kenny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ezra Holbrook in the 23rd minute of play. After 30 played minutes Hokie Nation got a freekick which was hit by Blaine Rafferty. 39 minutes into the match, Warrensville Heights's Graig Swift sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that DeMarcus Kenny narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Warrensville Heights's Dustin Shaver slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of DeMarcus Kenny. That made the score 1-0 after 41 minutes of play. Bradley Rader fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ward Kruse having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jayson Oberle was the one to do the kick off. Ward Kruse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jayson Oberle in the 52nd minute of the match. A collision led to Hokie Nation getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Benny Foster hit a great ball. After 59 minutes, Kent Weeks mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Warrensville Heights and the Hokie Nation players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience was convinced that Jayson Oberle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ward Kruse was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Ezra Holbrook struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. DeMarcus Kenny didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Warrensville Heights. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jayson Oberle in the 73rd minute of play forced Warrensville Heights's goalkeeper Ward Kruse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ezra Holbrook sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. DeMarcus Kenny made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dustin Shaver in the 76th minute of play. Ezra Holbrook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without DeMarcus Kenny having to interfere. After some careless play in the Warrensville Heights defense, Bradley Rader kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ward Kruse. The Warrensville Heights fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ward Kruse should have stopped the shot. Marcos Barrera kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, Hokie Nation's goal looked a bit too open when Ezra Holbrook came free, but DeMarcus Kenny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hokie Nation's DeMarcus Kenny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ezra Holbrook in the 98th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
