In the 12thth minute of the game Mitchell Hobbs who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Delta Football Club's Robbie Skinner was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 13th minute, Donnie Herring left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hood River AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The supporters of Delta Football Club booed when Hood River AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mitchell Hobbs didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Timmy Medina came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Delta Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timmy Medina couldn't finish the play. The Delta Football Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Robbie Skinner should have stopped the shot. When Marlon Smith came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Delta Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marlon Smith couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Donnie Herring to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Donnie Herring in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Robbie Skinner saved Delta Football Club from getting behind. A collision led to Hood River AFC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Mitchell Hobbs hit a great ball. Zachariah Dunlap's late challenge caught a Hood River AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zachariah Dunlap helped the player get up and apologised. Zachariah Dunlap hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. If Donnie Herring had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 64 minutes into the game, Josiah Mims cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Robbie Skinner was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marlon Smith in the 67th minute of play forced Hood River AFC's goalkeeper Danny Tang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Delta Football Club booed when Hood River AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Al Dobbins didn't get a good kick on the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Hood River AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Timmy Medina came free, but Danny Tang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 71 minutes of play, Delta Football Club's Timmy Medina made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Danny Tang was left in no man's land by his defense there! Danny Tang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marlon Smith in the 74th minute of play. Timmy Medina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danny Tang having to interfere. Josiah Mims recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jerry Boudreaux charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerry Boudreaux the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 83 played minutes Hood River AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jerry Boudreaux. Marlon Smith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Hood River AFC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Delta Football Club throughout the match.
