An unexpectedly hard shot by Bradley Rader in the 3rd minute of play forced Texas Cavaliers's goalkeeper Denver Baird to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denver Baird stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bradley Rader's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Denver Baird took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benny Foster, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hokie Nation's Bradley Rader got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22nd minute, Lucas Beebe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Antoine Chamberlain recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lucas Beebe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without DeMarcus Kenny having to interfere. Jayson Oberle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denver Baird having to interfere. If Antoine Chamberlain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. DeMarcus Kenny showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Beebe in the 40th minute of the match. DeMarcus Kenny was a little too slow when Lucas Beebe got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 1-0.

The wind increased when Lucas Beebe made the kick off in the second half. If Jayson Oberle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucas Beebe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without DeMarcus Kenny having to interfere. With his leg Denver Baird managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Hokie Nation's Bradley Rader fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Texas Cavaliers's Lucas Beebe got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bradley Rader received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Denver Baird tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Texas Cavaliers's Denver Baird got control of the ball when Bradley Rader tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bradley Rader could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Denver Baird made a huge save. 73 minutes into the match, Hokie Nation's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Beebe came free, but DeMarcus Kenny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jayson Oberle struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Denver Baird didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hokie Nation. Denver Baird didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bradley Rader went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Texas Cavaliers's Denver Baird got control of the ball when Bradley Rader tried to sneak it across the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, Willie Beam was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Texas Cavaliers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hokie Nation the free kick. In the 84th match minute, Texas Cavaliers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willie Beam to maneuver through the defense. DeMarcus Kenny showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lance Sheffield in the 87th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Texas Cavaliers's zone, Bradley Rader stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denver Baird came out of the goal and Bradley Rader tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
