When Al Dobbins fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Hood River AFC's Danny Tang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wayne Crouch in the 74th minute of play. If Donnie Herring had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Donnie Herring in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peter Louis saved Pontiac from getting behind. Mitchell Hobbs kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Donnie Herring fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Louis having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Hood River AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pontiac had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
