Spectators: 7075 (Terracing: 5875, Seating: 1100, VIP seats: 100) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Donnie Herring took the kick off in the first half of the match. Al Dobbins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without DeMarcus Kenny having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Hood River AFC's Donnie Herring sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that DeMarcus Kenny narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mitchell Hobbs during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Hood River AFC's Mitchell Hobbs got a free kick in the 15th minute. Jayson Oberle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Danny Tang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. DeMarcus Kenny showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donnie Herring in the 30th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Hood River AFC's Josiah Mims sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that DeMarcus Kenny narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Josiah Mims managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hood River AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Josiah Mims was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. DeMarcus Kenny breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Josiah Mims struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. DeMarcus Kenny didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hood River AFC. After a defensive mix-up in Hokie Nation's zone, Josiah Mims stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. DeMarcus Kenny came out of the goal and Josiah Mims tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jayson Oberle stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Hood River AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerry Boudreaux to maneuver through the defense. Jayson Oberle was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 53rd minute. Hokie Nation's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. DeMarcus Kenny made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donnie Herring in the 56th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Hokie Nation's goal looked a bit too open when Donnie Herring came free, but DeMarcus Kenny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. DeMarcus Kenny showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Josiah Mims, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. The supporters of Hood River AFC booed when Hokie Nation was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emery Patrick didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Donnie Herring in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg DeMarcus Kenny saved Hokie Nation from getting behind. With his leg Danny Tang managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Hokie Nation's Bradley Rader fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. DeMarcus Kenny made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donnie Herring in the 74th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bradley Rader got free with Danny Tang in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Josiah Mims took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised DeMarcus Kenny. DeMarcus Kenny dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bradley Rader got free with Danny Tang in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Josiah Mims had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Donnie Herring left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hood River AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Hood River AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hokie Nation had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
