Dwayne Tanner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duke Snider having to interfere. 10 minutes into the game, Russell Riker cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Wilfred Hinkle was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 12th minute, Houston Coppack hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the match, McLean FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dwayne Tanner came free, but Duke Snider reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th match minute, McLean FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Houston Coppack to maneuver through the defense. When Grady Bruner, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 17 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Duke Snider was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Grady Bruner had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Duke Snider. McLean FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Grady Bruner was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The Superstars were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after McLean FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Allan Woodward took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Allan Woodward got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Duke Snider quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to McLean FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Houston Coppack hit a great ball. Duke Snider made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dwayne Tanner in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Allan Woodward hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 40 minutes into the match, McLean FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dwayne Tanner came free, but Duke Snider reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grady Bruner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duke Snider having to interfere. The Superstars's Wilfred Hinkle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Russell Riker in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Russell Riker was the one to do the kick off. McLean FC's Duke Snider played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Hollingsworth in the 51st minute of play. Duke Snider made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grady Bruner in the 53rd minute of play. Duke Snider showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grady Bruner, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Grady Bruner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duke Snider having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Dwayne Tanner managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Superstars's supporters rose to their feet, but Dwayne Tanner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duke Snider breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Duke Snider came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by The Superstars's Osvaldo Hutchison. But to his dismay, Osvaldo Hutchison quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. The supporters of McLean FC booed when The Superstars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grady Bruner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Grady Bruner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute, Dwayne Tanner left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The The Superstars fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. 78 minutes into the game, Grady Bruner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Duke Snider was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Duke Snider took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grady Bruner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tod Gould kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grady Bruner in the 92nd minute of play forced McLean FC's goalkeeper Duke Snider to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of The Superstars booed when McLean FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tod Gould didn't get a good kick on the ball.
