When Alonzo Perez came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Nicollet FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alonzo Perez couldn't finish the play. Kenny Messer made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Quinton Grubb sent off a good shot on target. Locust Valley AFC were furious when Allan McKee was red carded, 17 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Locust Valley AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! In the 22nd minute, Quinton Grubb got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Quinton Grubb could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Kenny Messer made a huge save. Rodger Lim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Connor Seals in the 28th minute of play. When Mark Cooke fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Locust Valley AFC's protests and gave Mark Cooke a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st match minute, Locust Valley AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mark Cooke to maneuver through the defense. Rolf Richey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Connor Seals sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Connor Seals fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodger Lim having to interfere. Connor Seals sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Quinton Grubb might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kenny Messer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Quinton Grubb ran back to his position shaking his head. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Connor Seals stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the match, Locust Valley AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Rolf Richey came free, but Kenny Messer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jeremy Calloway fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nicollet FC's protests and gave Jeremy Calloway a yellow card for diving instead. Jeremy Calloway hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Mark Cooke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Rodger Lim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Connor Seals came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Locust Valley AFC fans jumped to their feet. Kenny Messer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rolf Richey, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Rolf Richey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kenny Messer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolf Richey in the 85th minute of the match. 2-1 became the score in the 88th minute when Connor Seals elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Josiah Palacios charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Josiah Palacios the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Locust Valley AFC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Josiah Palacios hit a great ball. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Locust Valley AFC's goalkeeper Kenny Messer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kenny Messer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quinton Grubb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rolf Richey in the 96th minute of play forced Locust Valley AFC's goalkeeper Kenny Messer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Connor Seals received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Rodger Lim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Many of Locust Valley AFC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Locust Valley AFC may have spent more time on the ball, but Nicollet FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
