Spectators: 5040 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 40) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Roosevelt Tran took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sawmills's zone, Davis Bergstrom stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nathan Groves came out of the goal and Davis Bergstrom tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nathan Groves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto Braun in the 5th minute of play. In the 6th minute, Olin Voss left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Appalachian Football Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Lyle De La Cruz made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Bronson Silva sent off a good shot on target. Garret Potts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lyle De La Cruz having to interfere. Roosevelt Tran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lyle De La Cruz made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Garret Potts sent off a good shot on target. Norberto Braun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nathan Groves having to interfere. Norberto Braun struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Nathan Groves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Appalachian Football Club. Lazaro Whalen kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Lyle De La Cruz came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Sawmills's Garret Potts. But to his dismay, Garret Potts quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Sammy Baker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nathan Groves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olin Voss in the 44th minute of play. Nathan Groves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davis Bergstrom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cason Matthews sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Olin Voss stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sawmills's Nathan Groves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Sawmills from getting a goal against them. The corner led Sawmills's Evan Jenkins to fire away a dangerous shot which Lyle De La Cruz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 65th minute of the game, Tristan Roe landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Connor Beach's late challenge caught a Appalachian Football Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Connor Beach helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Appalachian Football Club getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Cason Matthews hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Appalachian Football Club's Norberto Braun slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nathan Groves. That made the score 1-2 after 71 minutes of play. Olin Voss received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nathan Groves came out and tried to block the shot, but Olin Voss slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 79th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sammy Baker got free with Nathan Groves in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sawmills's Nathan Groves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Sawmills from getting a goal against them. Lyle De La Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bronson Silva in the 86th minute of play. Davis Bergstrom hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Evan Jenkins took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lyle De La Cruz. Appalachian Football Club's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Davis Bergstrom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Sawmills fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Appalachian Football Club were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
