Whitney Rowell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Highland Beach's Sean Wise played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lloyd Hatcher in the 16th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Highland Beach's zone, Karl Zimmer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sean Wise came out of the goal and Karl Zimmer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25thth minute of the game Lloyd Hatcher who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Highland Beach's Sean Wise was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lloyd Hatcher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Sean Wise tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Travis Creech hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the match, Tod Herring dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mario Toney, 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lloyd Hatcher to strike the kick off in the second half. Lloyd Hatcher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Darren Camacho didn't quite understand what happened when in the 59 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Whitney Rowell hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Whitney Rowell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to flatos F.C. getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Ed Coles hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, Tod Herring had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mario Toney. flatos F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tod Herring was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Karl Zimmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Wise having to interfere. There was no doubt that Highland Beach were the better team. Highland Beach's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
