Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jeff Britton in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zachariah McClain prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Odell Carrier made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Kasey Elliot sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Mount Vernon AFC's Kareem Herman got a free kick in the 20th minute. Malulo LC's Kasey Elliot got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kermit Suarez charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kermit Suarez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Mount Vernon AFC booed when Malulo LC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kermit Suarez didn't get a good kick on the ball. With 29 minutes on the clock, Javier Starnes commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 28th minute, one of Mount Vernon AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mount Vernon AFC. The goalkeeper, Odell Carrier, was totally fooled by Malulo LC's Kermit Suarez, who 31 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. George Krueger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Odell Carrier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the game, Mount Vernon AFC's Kareem Herman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zachariah McClain made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Zachariah McClain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dallas Swartz in the 47th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Dallas Swartz made the kick off in the second half. Mount Vernon AFC's Dallas Swartz got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60th minute of the match Kermit Suarez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Odell Carrier showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Kasey Elliot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Odell Carrier having to interfere. Odell Carrier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kasey Elliot in the 65th minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Mount Vernon AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Kasey Elliot came free, but Odell Carrier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Federico Vasquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Zachariah McClain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mount Vernon AFC's Odell Carrier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kasey Elliot in the 82nd minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, Dallas Swartz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Zachariah McClain was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 89 minutes into the match, Malulo LC's goalkeeper Zachariah McClain had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dallas Swartz. Dallas Swartz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zachariah McClain having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Derick Irving hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
