Everett Boudreaux made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dallas Swartz in the 7th minute. In the 7th match minute, Waverly FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jackson Torrez to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Jeff Britton put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Everett Boudreaux. In the 15th minute, Harry Velasquez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Harry Velasquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Odell Carrier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Everett Boudreaux took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeff Britton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Everett Boudreaux showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeff Britton, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Quinton Uhl kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Harry Velasquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Odell Carrier having to interfere. In the 35th match minute, Mount Vernon AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cary Ramey to maneuver through the defense. After 38 minutes, Cary Ramey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mount Vernon AFC and the Waverly FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience was convinced that Jim McNeill's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Odell Carrier was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Harry Velasquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Odell Carrier having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Waverly FC's Harry Velasquez got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 54th match minute, Mount Vernon AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elvis Tobin to maneuver through the defense. Harry Velasquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Odell Carrier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 63 minutes, Harry Velasquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Waverly FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harry Velasquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Mount Vernon AFC's goalkeeper Odell Carrier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harry Velasquez. After 69th play minutes Jim McNeill shot 1-4, a short shot which went by Odell Carrier and just under the crossbar into goal. After having played for 73 minutes, Dallas Swartz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mount Vernon AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dallas Swartz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cary Ramey hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Houston Woodward managed to get in a good position for a shot. Waverly FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Houston Woodward was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Odell Carrier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeff Britton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Everett Boudreaux having to interfere. In the 81st match minute, Mount Vernon AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cary Ramey to maneuver through the defense. Harry Velasquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Odell Carrier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeff Britton hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. When Jim McNeill got free in front of the goal in the 87th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Odell Carrier was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Waverly FC's zone, Dallas Swartz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Everett Boudreaux came out of the goal and Dallas Swartz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jim McNeill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Jim McNeill came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Waverly FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jim McNeill couldn't finish the play. Waverly FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
