The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dana Watkins didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when SLC FC's Eusebio Lund shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ben Manning during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 12thth minute of the game Santo Mallory who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SLC FC's Kip Wyatt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ben Manning got his second yellow card in the match during the 15th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Ben Manning hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. After having played for 18 minutes, Julio Aviles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SLC FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julio Aviles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julio Aviles got free with Dana Watkins in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 29 played minutes SLC FC got a freekick which was hit by Eusebio Lund. Kip Wyatt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Todd Rice, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julio Aviles got free with Dana Watkins in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Aviles struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Dana Watkins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SLC FC. Santo Mallory fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kip Wyatt having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Rolf Keene hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santo Mallory in the 45th minute of play forced SLC FC's goalkeeper Kip Wyatt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santo Mallory scored 1-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kip Wyatt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After a defensive mix-up in Hitchcock's zone, Eusebio Lund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dana Watkins came out of the goal and Eusebio Lund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Todd Rice might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kip Wyatt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Todd Rice ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Aviles in the 72nd minute of play forced Hitchcock's goalkeeper Dana Watkins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dana Watkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julio Aviles in the 73rd minute of the match. After 76 minutes, Eusebio Lund mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SLC FC and the Hitchcock players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SLC FC's Eusebio Lund got a free kick in the 76th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Santo Mallory managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hitchcock's supporters rose to their feet, but Santo Mallory was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kip Wyatt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Santo Mallory sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 84 minutes in the game, Todd Rice fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Kip Wyatt having to interfere. When Eusebio Lund was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 85 minutes had been played. In the 86th minute, Eusebio Lund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 89 minutes into the match, SLC FC's goal looked a bit too open when Todd Rice came free, but Kip Wyatt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kip Wyatt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Todd Rice, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Hitchcock players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented SLC FC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
