Tory Blue took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jim McNeill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Everett Boudreaux showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgil Sizemore in the 14th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jim McNeill in the 19th minute of play forced SJ Earthquakes's goalkeeper Tory Blue to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Jim McNeill's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tory Blue was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. The supporters of SJ Earthquakes booed when Waverly FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harry Velasquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Everett Boudreaux showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgil Sizemore in the 25th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, SJ Earthquakes's goalkeeper Tory Blue had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jim McNeill. In the 30th match minute, Waverly FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jackson Torrez to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute, Harry Velasquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jim McNeill's late challenge caught a SJ Earthquakes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Waverly FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Salvatore Rucker scored to the left of an out of position Everett Boudreaux, making the score, 0-1. When Harry Velasquez came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Waverly FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harry Velasquez couldn't finish the play. In the 66th match minute, Waverly FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Levi Regan to maneuver through the defense. When Salvatore Rucker fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SJ Earthquakes's protests and gave Salvatore Rucker a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th minute, Salvatore Rucker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Houston Woodward took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tory Blue. Tory Blue dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 76 minutes into the match, SJ Earthquakes's goal looked a bit too open when Jim McNeill came free, but Tory Blue reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 80 minutes, Houston Woodward managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Waverly FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Houston Woodward was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute Jim McNeill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tory Blue saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 86 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Jim McNeill sped through SJ Earthquakes's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tory Blue. In the 89th match minute, SJ Earthquakes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by German Carson to maneuver through the defense. Waverly FC's Houston Woodward got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Jim McNeill ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tory Blue was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Waverly FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
