A collision led to Samson AFC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Scotty Hargrove hit a great ball. In the 7th minute of the match Markus Rich sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kirk Hearn skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Samson AFC's Scotty Hargrove got a free kick in the 7th minute. The attack was good, but when Von Ross in the 10th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Kirk Hearn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Todd Rice, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kirk Hearn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ferdinand Bernstein's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. After 23 minutes of play, Hitchcock's Santo Mallory made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kirk Hearn was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tad Platt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute, Markus Rich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Hitchcock's Dana Watkins got control of the ball when Tad Platt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tad Platt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Samson AFC's Von Ross got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dana Watkins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tad Platt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Todd Rice hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Tad Platt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Samson AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tad Platt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dana Watkins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Scotty Hargrove kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. The supporters of Hitchcock booed when Samson AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sal Clayton didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Tad Platt came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Samson AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tad Platt couldn't finish the play. When Samson AFC's Tad Platt in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hitchcock's goalie prevented a goal. In the 68th minute Todd Rice shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kirk Hearn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Tad Platt put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Dana Watkins. After a defensive mix-up in Hitchcock's zone, Tad Platt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dana Watkins came out of the goal and Tad Platt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dana Watkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Von Ross in the 78th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Von Ross in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dana Watkins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tad Platt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Dana Watkins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ferdinand Bernstein's late challenge caught a Samson AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ferdinand Bernstein helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th match minute, Hitchcock was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferdinand Bernstein to maneuver through the defense. 88 minutes into the match, Hitchcock's goal looked a bit too open when Tad Platt came free, but Dana Watkins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Von Ross in the 90th minute of play forced Hitchcock's goalkeeper Dana Watkins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tad Platt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dana Watkins having to interfere. Tad Platt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Dana Watkins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
