The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fallbrook AFC's Andre Kimbrough played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Armstrong in the 34th minute of play. Jaime Armstrong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Kimbrough having to interfere. The Fallbrook AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Pontotoc were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jaime Armstrong made a kick off. In the 54th minute of the match Juan McCain shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kory Scott showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 60th minute, Joel Dickens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Moses Medeiros fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pontotoc's protests and gave Moses Medeiros a yellow card for diving instead. After 63 played minutes Pontotoc got a freekick which was hit by Moses Medeiros. The Pontotoc fans' excitement grew in the 66th match minute when Pontotoc's Jaime Armstrong looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 73rd minute Joel Dickens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andre Kimbrough saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pontotoc's Kory Scott played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Max Lawrence in the 74th minute of play. After having played for 81 minutes, Max Lawrence managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fallbrook AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Max Lawrence was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Max Lawrence struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Kory Scott didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fallbrook AFC. In the 85th minute of the match Teodoro Glenn shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kory Scott showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Teodoro Glenn hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute, Felipe Cuevas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Max Lawrence hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. The Fallbrook AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Pontotoc were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
