Virgilio Faulk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fallbrook AFC's Virgilio Faulk got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Merle Kincaid showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgilio Faulk, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Max Lawrence struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Merle Kincaid didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fallbrook AFC. If Virgilio Faulk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Zane Pollard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Kimbrough having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Max Lawrence in the 15th minute of play forced MONTERREY's goalkeeper Merle Kincaid to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute, Gary Orr hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd match minute, MONTERREY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Monroe Puckett to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Fallbrook AFC's Graham Matos tried to score from far away in the 24th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Merle Kincaid showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgilio Faulk in the 26th minute of the match. Orlando Busch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Andre Kimbrough tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zane Pollard could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Andre Kimbrough made a huge save. A collision led to Fallbrook AFC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Hayden Hickman hit a great ball. In the 35th minute, Zane Pollard left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MONTERREY fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. If Zane Pollard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Fallbrook AFC's Rex Bynum got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 46th minute, Virgilio Faulk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Max Lawrence stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 63rd minute Zane Pollard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andre Kimbrough saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute Max Lawrence shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Merle Kincaid saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Merle Kincaid made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Max Lawrence in the 68th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Orlando Busch had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andre Kimbrough. Fallbrook AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Orlando Busch was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After 86 played minutes MONTERREY got a freekick which was hit by Travis Looney. After 87 played minutes MONTERREY got a freekick which was hit by Freddie Colbert. Graham Matos was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 88th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The MONTERREY fans cheered their team off the field, for while Fallbrook AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
