Kory Scott showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flint Hopper, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Richton AFC's Bernardo Chacon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moses Medeiros in the 24th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Terrell Whatley to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, one of Richton AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terrell Whatley in the 60th minute of play forced Pontotoc's goalkeeper Kory Scott to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute, Jaime Armstrong made a precise shot to the right of Bernardo Chacon. Richton AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Pontotoc's zone, Jess Messer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kory Scott came out of the goal and Jess Messer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pontotoc were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
