Roark, 6 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Bryant Stroud took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ron Guidry, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Captain America's Ron Guidry got a free kick in the 12th minute. After having played for 15 minutes, Ahmed Barrera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monstars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ahmed Barrera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Monstars's Bryant Stroud played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignacio Sims in the 17th minute of play. In the 26th minute Hugh Lincoln shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kermit Buckley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the game, Captain America's Ignacio Sims nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bryant Stroud made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Ahmed Barrera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kermit Buckley having to interfere. Captain America's Kermit Buckley proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Captain America from getting a goal against them. Hugh Lincoln succeeded in the game's 42nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hugh Lincoln to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Captain America was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hayden Honeycutt to maneuver through the defense. Ahmed Barrera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hugh Lincoln blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kermit Buckley having to make a save. Ron Guidry might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bryant Stroud. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ron Guidry ran back to his position shaking his head. Hugh Lincoln sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the match, Monstars's goalkeeper Bryant Stroud had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ron Guidry. Kermit Buckley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugh Lincoln, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dan Mercado kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. A collision led to Captain America getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Terrence Alexander hit a great ball. Monstars's J.P. Roark couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 86th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Captain America. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clayton Fortune in the 90th minute of play forced Captain America's goalkeeper Kermit Buckley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ahmed Barrera came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Monstars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ahmed Barrera couldn't finish the play. Monstars's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
