Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Merrill Devine got the match started through his kick off. If Moses Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Virginia Gardens AFC's John Morrison got a free kick in the 4th minute. Jaime Armstrong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 10th minute, Jaime Armstrong reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Antony Leal. The goal made the score 1-0. 16 minutes into the match, Pontotoc's goal looked a bit too open when Merrill Devine came free, but Kory Scott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Virginia Gardens AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Moses Medeiros came free, but Antony Leal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jaime Armstrong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antony Leal having to interfere. Moses Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 29th match minute, Virginia Gardens AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Merrill Devine to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Pontotoc's Joel Dickens slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Antony Leal. That made the score 2-0 after 32 minutes of play. In the 36th minute, Jaime Armstrong fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th match minute, Virginia Gardens AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Merrill Devine to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute Joel Dickens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antony Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antony Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Armstrong in the 41st minute of play. Jaime Armstrong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joel Dickens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jaime Armstrong made a kick off. If Merrill Devine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Dickens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antony Leal having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Pontotoc's goal looked a bit too open when Merrill Devine came free, but Kory Scott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 61 minutes into the game, Moses Medeiros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pontotoc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Virginia Gardens AFC the free kick. Moses Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Merrill Devine blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kory Scott having to make a save. Jaime Armstrong struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Antony Leal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pontotoc. Kory Scott made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merrill Devine in the 69th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Virginia Gardens AFC's Houston Rudolph got a free kick in the 79th minute. After 80 minutes of play, Pontotoc's Joel Dickens made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Antony Leal was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 85 minutes, Houston Rudolph mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Virginia Gardens AFC and the Pontotoc players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 85 played minutes Virginia Gardens AFC got a freekick which was hit by Houston Rudolph. There was no doubt that Pontotoc were the better team. Pontotoc's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
