In the 19thth minute of the game Harvey Barrios who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mankato's Johnathon Gallo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Johnathon Gallo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnathon Short, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Newton Falls's zone, Norman Bergman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramon Crane came out of the goal and Norman Bergman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Harvey Barrios took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Johnathon Gallo. Johnathon Gallo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Oscar Paris hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Norman Bergman came free with the goalkeeper in the 30th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ramon Crane could save by the left post. In the 31st match minute, Newton Falls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alistair Manley to maneuver through the defense. Ramon Crane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dexter Jeffers in the 36th minute of play. Ramon Crane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dexter Jeffers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Newton Falls's zone, Dexter Jeffers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramon Crane came out of the goal and Dexter Jeffers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Ramon Crane managed to avoid a goal in the 42ndth minute, when Mankato's Norman Bergman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Newton Falls's Ramon Crane got control of the ball when Norman Bergman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Paris in the 55th minute of play forced Mankato's goalkeeper Johnathon Gallo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dexter Jeffers scored 1-1 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ramon Crane, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 67th match minute, Newton Falls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sid Soto to maneuver through the defense. Newton Falls's Oscar Paris got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76th minute Dexter Jeffers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramon Crane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 77 played minutes Newton Falls got a freekick which was hit by Johnathon Short. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newton Falls's goalkeeper Ramon Crane, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Mankato's Cliff Schulz got a free kick in the 88th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mankato's zone, Alistair Manley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johnathon Gallo came out of the goal and Alistair Manley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 96 minutes, Norman Bergman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mankato and the Newton Falls players grew even worse after the yellow card. Norman Bergman kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The Newton Falls players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Mankato from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
