Anchorage Athletic's Johnny Mesen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cruz Hodges in the 86th minute of play. Aaron Dupree stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacob Orozco's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. In the 88th match minute, Boston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronald Lemon to maneuver through the defense. Jean-Charles Rinaudo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, Boston could leave the field as winners, despite Anchorage Athletic having more of the ball for most of the match.
