Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Kareem Matthews started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Defiance FC's Thad Britton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bobby Noble in the 2nd minute of play. After having played for 4 minutes, Domenico Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. REFTS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domenico Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gary Chappelle during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 12th minute Domenico Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thad Britton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute Tad Rush shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thad Britton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Defiance FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tad Rush came free, but Thad Britton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, REFTS's goalkeeper Alec Mann had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kareem Matthews. Kareem Matthews received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Alec Mann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gary Chappelle got free with Alec Mann in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 26 minutes of play, REFTS's Domenico Cardoso made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thad Britton was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thad Britton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bryan Dickinson in the 33rd minute of play. Bryan Dickinson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Thad Britton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thad Britton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domenico Cardoso in the 37th minute of the match. After having played for 40 minutes, Gary Chappelle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Defiance FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gary Chappelle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 42nd minute, Marshall Doe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Domenico Cardoso made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domenico Cardoso in the 52nd minute of play forced Defiance FC's goalkeeper Thad Britton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bryan Dickinson got free with Thad Britton in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bryan Dickinson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Thad Britton made a huge save. After some careless play in the Defiance FC defense, Tad Rush kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thad Britton. The Defiance FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thad Britton should have stopped the shot. If Bryan Dickinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 63 minutes, Stanley Goldstein mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Defiance FC and the REFTS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 63 played minutes Defiance FC got a freekick which was hit by Stanley Goldstein. 66 minutes into the match, Defiance FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tad Rush came free, but Thad Britton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st match minute, REFTS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emilio Justice to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emilio Justice got free with Thad Britton in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Domenico Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. REFTS's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
