The referee ignored Aiea AFC's protests and gave Colin Childress a yellow card for diving instead. Eric Haney walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 36th minute of the match, Tuan Dennison got a very nice opportunity to score, but Keith Epps was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A collision led to Burlington FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Eric Haney hit a great ball. If Santiago Jenkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santiago Jenkins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Darnell Hickman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Aiea AFC's Keith Epps played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tuan Dennison in the 57th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Tuan Dennison managed to get in a good position for a shot. Burlington FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tuan Dennison was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Keith Epps breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Keith Epps made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tuan Dennison in the 62nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Burlington FC's zone, Gavin Colbert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Darnell Hickman came out of the goal and Gavin Colbert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Waylon Daniel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keith Epps having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Aiea AFC's Garth Bridges got a free kick in the 70th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Aiea AFC's zone, Tuan Dennison stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keith Epps came out of the goal and Tuan Dennison tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The attack was good, but when Waylon Daniel in the 85th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The audience was convinced that Waylon Daniel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Keith Epps was relentless in the 88th minute of the game.
